From time to time, you will find the need to edit the photos you snap with your digital camera to make it usable for your project. For simple photo retouching work, it is recommended that you get a basic photo editor like Movavi Photo Editor for Mac. You might be wondering how to add text to photos on Mac. If you have a nice picture that you would like to add some text, you simply need to go to the text tab in Movavi Photo Editor. From the text tab, you will find the Add Text button that allows you to add text boxes into the picture. You can move the text box by dragging it with your cursor. The text box is expandable by dragging it outward and can be reduced to a smaller size by dragging it inward. Just like a WYSIWYG editor, you can format all aspects of the text including font size, font color, and font family. All these options can be found under the text sub tab.
In the background subtab, you can change all aspects of the text background including color and width of the frame. You can adjust how big or how small the text will appear inside the text frame by dragging the text capacity slider. If you add the wrong text, you can click the remove all button and all text frame will be deleted in a second. There is a feature that allows you to add decoration to your text and this feature can be accessed on the top right under the View original button. The decoration will appear as a background or frame for the text. The decoration can make the text stand out in the photo so that people will easily notice it.
The undo and redo buttons can be found on the top toolbar. You can press the undo button to reverse the text editing by one step. If you want to clear away all changes you make on the photo, you can press the Revert Changes button. Movavi Photo Editor has a before/after button that allows you to compare the original picture and the picture you just edited. In this way, you will know whether the editing on the photo has bring any improvement on the quality.
You can always switch in between tabs to perform different types of editing on the photo. However, before you switch to a different tab, you must remember to save the picture first. If you don’t save it, you will have to redo all the text editing. To save the picture, click on the save button at the bottom. From the drop down menus, select the picture file format and destination folder.
